Melanin Magazine was born from a vision to establish a sanctuary for South Asian superstars globally, particularly here in Australia. Our origin is rooted in overcoming feelings of isolation and creating a strong community amidst a predominantly white-centric environment. Recognizing the rich skills and ambitions within our community, we sought to forge a path where we could thrive collectively.

We are dedicated to celebrating the diverse backgrounds, experiences, and unique stories that define us, while also recognizing and celebrating each other’s achievements. Melanin Magazine aims to highlight the solidarity, power, and vibrant diversity of the South Asian community by cheering each other on and spotlighting unique individuals and initiatives. We address topics that resonate with our community, focusing on themes that are often thought about but not always expressed, out of uncertainty about their acceptance within our broader communities.
